Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of Radu Dragucin has been given a red light.
According to Italy’s La Gazzetta dello Sport, “Tottenham are not planning to make an offer in excess of 20 million euros ($28.8 million) for Dragucin. Napoli, on the other hand, are willing to accept Genoa’s offer. The total amount would be around €25 million,” the report said.
Also, Tottenham fan community ‘Hooters Related’ reported that “Tottenham have begun to withdraw their offer for Dragucin. The club is not planning to pay more than €20 million for a rotational player who is not a regular starter.”
Dragusin is a Romanian center back born in 2002. He has played exclusively in Italy since coming through the Juventus academy to the professional ranks. After spells with Sampdoria and Salernitana, he settled in Genoa, where he has started all 18 Serie A games so far this season.
After making a name for himself in the big leagues at a young age, Tottenham expressed interest. Dragucin is contracted to Genoa until the summer of 2027. While there is still plenty of time left on his contract, Genoa are willing to negotiate if a club can match their asking price.
There have even been reports of a personal agreement. “Tottenham have completed a personal agreement with Dragucin to sign a long-term contract,” transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano wrote on social media on March 31. Negotiations are currently underway with Genoa for a transfer fee.”
In particular, Romano reported that “Enze Postecoglou sees Dragucin as a great option for center back reinforcements. Talks between Tottenham and Genoa are ongoing and it is understood that Dragucin is keen to join Spurs.”
Once the transfer fee issue was resolved, the signing seemed to go smoothly, but here’s where things went wrong. Tottenham 먹튀검증 have Cristian Romero and Mickey van der Vaart as their mainstays. Dragucin isn’t going to push them out of the way right away and start every game. He’s more likely to be a rotation player and the plan is to not spend too much on him.
Napoli, on the other hand, are being proactive. Napoli sold key center back Kim Min-jae to Bayern Munich ahead of the season and brought in 22-year-old Brazilian Nathan as a replacement. Currently, Napoli has Amir Rahmani, who played alongside Kim, as the starter, with the other three players getting equal chances. In the league, Natan has played 837 minutes, Östigor 780 minutes, and Jesus 769 minutes. Here’s where Dragucin comes in to bolster the backline.
